Employee Viewpoint Survey
In 2016, the National Gallery of Art again participated in the government's Employee Viewpoint Survey. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) surveyed more than 407,000 permanent federal employees, requesting their opinions on leadership, job satisfaction, and work-life issues.
At the Gallery, 723 federal employees were surveyed and 527 replied, for a response rate of 75.1%, which well exceeded the government-wide response rate of 45.8%. The survey included 84 questions. The responses to 26 (31.0%) of the survey questions were identified as Gallery "strengths" (65% or more positive responses), while 8 questions (9.5%) were identified as "challenges" (35% or more negative responses). Action plans are currently being developed to address some of the more challenging areas and will be shared by the Personnel Office in the coming months.
